On Monday, August 21st, the Eclipse passed over Chattanooga at about 1:30pm with a 70 mile track. Even though I had order my glasses 2 months in advance, I instead recieved a letter from Amazon on the very week of this event stating that the money would be refunded to my account. It turns out that those glasses were not compliant with the ISO 12312-2 standard.
A day before the event a person at my church informed me that glasses had become available at a local shop and were selling them at cost to generate notoriety of their shop. I was back in business!!
I personally viewed the Eclipse from my job site since I was working at the time. But my wife had been viewing it from our front yard while conversing with our neighbors. By holding the glasses up against their Cannon Camera they was able to capture these incredable shots.
I had heard that it would get so dark that the crickets would start chirping but I had doubts that it would get that dark.
The whole event took place in a 3 minute span and was indeed that dark.
So incase you missed it..
